Als Antwort auf die Schnellfahrten der preußischen Lokomotiven erhielt die Firma Maffei in München den Auftrag eine Schnellfahrlokomotive zu entwickeln und zu bauen. Unter der Leitung von Anton Hammel entstand in kürzester Zeit eine 2'B2' h4v Maschine die mit der Bahnnummer 3201 in Dienst gestellt wurde. Zwei Monate später stellte die Machine vor einem Meßzug einen neuen Geschwindigkeitsrekord für Dampflokomotiven mit 154,5 km/h auf, der bis Mitte der dreißiger Jahre Bestand hatte. |

S 2/6, Final 1.0 20.10.03 16:30 | As an answer of the prussian Highspeed-Locomotives, the bavarian Locomotiv- Manufacturer Maffei was ordered to develop and build a Highspeed Locomotive. Under the direction of Anton Hammel, in a time of only four month, a 4-4-4 Steamer was build. She goes on the tracks with the number 3201 at the 03 of Mai 1906. Her first way leads her to the Traffic-Exhibition at Nuernberg. Two month later, at the head of a measuring-train, the loco sets a new highspeed-record for Steamlocomotives with 96,9 miles/h, which was unbeaten till the mid of the 30th. |
